- There are two semesters in an academic year.
- Attendance will be calculated for each month
- (a) The grant of the annual attendance certificate shall be in respect of two semesters, ordinarily consecutive and comprise one year. But, the principal at her discretion may grant such certificate in respect of two semesters which are not consecutive, provided the student has completed the course of study during those semesters.
Condonation of Attendance:
Students with 75% of attendance on the total working days of the college are eligible for promotion to the next class and to write the university Semester Examinations. Candidates are eligible for condonation of attendance, if they get 50% of attendance on the total working days of the college and pay the following fee along with the condonation application together with the recommendations of the concerned principal and submit the same to the Controller of the examinations before the commencement of the examinations for the promotion to the next year and also to appear for the university examinations (vide Roc.No. B.IV(1)/Fee Enhance/2011, dt: 28-06-2011 issued by the controller of Examinations Rs. 500/- is the condonation issued for the shortage of attendance.
- (a) The working day is divided into five periods of one hour duration each.
(b) Attendance shall be taken for every lecture or practical or tutorial class of any kind
prescribed by the college.
(c ) Students coming late to classes are liable to be fined.
2. (a) Students should strictly follow the rules mentioned below relating to leave of absence
from the class. Permission to leave the class may be granted by the teacher for the
particular hour.
(b) In case of absence on account of illness, the student must produce a Medial Certificate.
(c ) When a student applies for a leave and then wants to cancel it, he/she must write to the
principal, requesting him/her to cancel the leave, He/she must do it immediately on
returning to the college.
(d) (i) Absence for one hour in any session will be counted as absence for the session.
(ii) Each day’s absence without leave will be counted as absent for two days. If a student
remains absent without leave for more than three days, his/her name will be removed
from the rolls.
3. Leave of absence will not be granted
(a) If a student does not apply for leave of absence before he/she goes on leave.
(b) If the leave of absence is not recommended by his/her lecturer
(c ) If the reason given by the student is not satisfactory.
Provided however, the students who could not put up a minimum of 50% attendance are required to make up the deficiency of attendance during the next academic year and get themselves eligible for the shortage in the required 75% of attendance on the recommendations of the principal. Such candidates whose shortage in attendance is condoned are eligible to appear for the supplementary examinations and eligible to study higher courses.
BENEFIT OF ATTENDANCE
If a student abstains himself/herself from the class and attends to extracurricular activities such as sports, NCC activities of fine arts and in the conduct of meetings et., under the association of the college, the student will be given the benefit of attendance provided the vice-president concerned recommends it within three days from the date of absence of the student.
RULES OF DISCIPLINE
1. Students should not take part in public demonstrations, political agitations or strikes.
2. The principal has the power to inflict the following punishments
a) Fine b) Cancellation of attendance, Scholarship and fee concession. c) Withholding
of Transfer, Progress and Conduct certificates d) Suspension, expulsion or dismissal from
the college.
3. If a student engages himself/herself in any activity which affects the morale and discipline
of the college or interferes with the corporate life of the college, the principal may suspend,
expel him/her and refuse to issue his/her any certificate.
4. The principal or the hostel authorities may frame and issue disciplinary rules of a permanent
or temporary character regulating the conduct of the student outside the college or hostel.
5. Students are not allowed to address any authority in body; such action is subversive of good
order.
6. The student should always wear his/her college identity card at the time of appearing for
the University semester examinations.
